Utilizing a tonewood combination more commonly found in acoustic guitars, the 20TM-CE from Cordoba is an acoustic/electric, tenor ukulele with a single-cutaway design. Its top is constructed out of solid mahogany, and the back and sides are also fashioned out of mahogany. This configuration gives the instrument a round, harmonically-balanced timbre, though it is slightly more pointed than its non-cutaway, completely acoustic counterpart, the 20TM.
The neck, measuring 17” in scale, offers a composite fingerboard with 18 frets. Dotted inlays at the 5th, 7th, 10th, and 12th frets provide a visual indication of where you are on the fingerboard. The nut and saddle are fashioned out of a composite material, while the bridge is also constructed out of composite.
For electronics, the 20TM-CE includes a Cordoba 2Band preamp system and a piezo undersaddle pickup. A hand-inlaid wooden herringbone-pattern rosette lends aesthetic flourishes to the instrument. The open-geared tuning machines are nickel with pearl buttons.
